How the prices are worked out

Same profit everywhere

For each platform we find the lowest price where, after that platform's fees, VAT and your postage, you're left with exactly the profit you asked for. The difference between the four prices is what each platform really costs you.

Why the buyer's total matters

Buyers compare what they pay in the end, including postage and any buyer fees. On eBay (private sellers) and Vinted, the buyer pays a protection fee on top of your price, so we show the buyer's full total. The platform with the lowest buyer total gives you the most competitive listing.

Fees included

eBay: private sellers pay no selling fees; the buyer pays a Buyer Protection fee of 10p plus 7%/4%/2% bands. Business sellers pay the category's final value fee, a 30p/40p order fee, a 0.35% regulatory fee and VAT. Etsy: 15p listing, 6.5% transaction, 4% + 20p processing, 0.48% regulatory fee and VAT on fees. Amazon: the category referral fee (25p minimum), 2% digital services fee, plan cost and VAT on fees. Vinted: no seller fees.
